Mapping Sydney explores the tension between cartographic conventions of precise and universal accuracy, and recent experimental approaches to subjectivity, interpretation, affect, and ‘art’ in maps. Eight collaborators were invited to make their own—experiential or experimental, alternative or idiosyncratic—map of Sydney. Taking up the subjectivity of tourist maps, but moving beyond this to a counter or quasi-tourist visual culture, the project re-visions, re-presents, and maps a few of the many other possible versions of Sydney.

We won the 2010 How International Design Award for most outstanding achievement HOW Magazine.
